I have a question regarding tables used for guided reading. I teach 5th and 6th grade learning support reading. In the past, I've had a lot of success using three trapezoid tables organized in a U. One reason I liked these tables is that the distance between myself and my students allowed me to easily listen in to their individual reading. When school started, I was surprised to find that my tables had been replaced by a rather wide and deep kidney-shaped table. When I asked if I could have my original tables back, I was told that F&P best practice is that I use the new table. Is there anyone here that can tell me where this is written? Thank you.
