Can the 3rd edition BAS comprehension rubric be used to help score the comprehension portion of the assessment from the 2nd edition tests?

Fountas and Pinnell currently suggest that you use the original Recording Forms with the 7 point scale. The new Rubric, is based on a 6 point scale with changes in the books and changes to the questions included in the Comprehension Conversation.

If you have access to the 3rd edition rubric, you can use the new thinking behind the 3rd edition rubric to add a little more rigor to your comprehension conversation. It can also be an excellent guide to help you determine the best instruction that needs to occur to help readers become proficient in the reading process, after you assess and score using the BAS 2nd edition.

I hope the new information helps!
