Happy New Year!

At what level is fiction first introduced in LLI?

When is the first time in the comprehension conversation that--------What kind of genre is this book?-------asked? Is it in the Blue level?

Thanks for always being here to answer my questions!!! You are all so helpful!

The first time Thinking Beyond and Thinking About the text are separated during the comprehension conversation is at Level L in the Blue System. At Level L readers are asked to identify the genre of the text during the reading record. However, teachers should be distinguishing/discussing/teaching genre of texts beginning in Pre-K. Please refer to the Literacy Continuum for expectations regarding genre identification.

I hope this helps.
