I am familiarizing myself with the minilesson book and how it is used with the interactive read aloud portion. We have to have common assessments for grades and data. Is there a piece to this puzzle that has the assessments? If not, has anyone out there come up with common assessments that align to the minilessons, or the interactive read aloud?

The assessment suggestions are in the lessons. Most of them are formative assessments. What kind of assessment are you looking for?

We are looking for a common assessment for the students to complete independently to show their mastery of the skill being taught. For example: a passage with questions that assess the skill.

No, Fountas and Pinnell do not have any assessments like that. The authentic assessment of comprehending is the conversation you have with students before during and after reading. You gauge control of reading behaviors by listening as readers read. You can find more about assessment in Guided Reading: Responsive Teaching Across the Grades.

Kind regards,
Debbie
