Is the F&P benchmark assessment an appropriate/successful measure for student's with moderate to severe language deficits? Students with moderate to severe language deficits have difficulty expressing themselves and/or have difficulty understanding vocabulary. The assessment protocol allows for 1 additional prompt per question. However, students with moderate to severe language deficits typically require more than one prompt in order to understand the presented question and to express their understanding.

When you are using the Benchmark Assessment System with a student who has an IEP you can write into the plan the modifications needed.
Best wishes for success!
