I would like to reach out to the classroom teachers in my school and see what they are doing for reading instruction currently. Does Fountas and Pinnell have a survey to use with teacher or maybe guiding question they suggest for starting conversation with classroom teachers?
Thanks.

Fountas and Pinnell do have self assessments in the back of the Guided Reading and other professional books. In the FPC planning guides you will see an evaluation or self-assessment for a school to use. The following link describes using these resources. http://fpblog.fountasandpinnell.com/teacher-tip-conduct-a-self-assessment-to-elevate-your-teaching
Check the Resource Library under the EXTEND tab for helpful resources to guide your thinking about how to start the conversation. There are articles, white papers, and study guides that may provide a good sampling of areas to discuss with ways to get the conversation going. I think reading the article "Every Child, Every Classroom, Every Day" and having a discussion about it might be a good start. http://www.fountasandpinnell.com/resourcelibrary/id/430 Or use the Core Values to see what everyone believes. http://www.fountasandpinnell.com/resourcelibrary/id/293

Good luck in starting the conversations!
Debbie

Thank you for the response. Once again I tried the helpful links you attach and they are all blocked. I am a registered signed in user. Please direct me to tech support for help with this issue?
Thanks.

I am so sorry you are having this problem. I wish I could attach the documents but I can only attach the links. Hopefully this has been resolved. The only other suggestion is to copy and paste the links into your browser. You may be able to search for the Resource Library materials by the names I listed once you log in. The Teacher Tip can be found by going to EXTEND/Blog/Search.
Thank you for continuing to resolve this issue on your own.
