Hello. I am a K-5 reading coach and am planning an upcoming professional development. Do you have any articles or books that speak directly to gifted and talented teachers and their students?

Almost all of the Fountas and Pinnell texts speak to developing proficiency in processing. The best resource for extending gifted and talented students is the Literacy Continuum. This helps teachers identify depth of teaching that needs to occur with processing text. This should be their ‘go to’ resource when determining what to teach next. You may find the Study Guide for this resource very useful (linked here) : http://www.fountasandpinnell.com/resourcelibrary/id/399

Wishing you success with your PD,
