My school has just started using the BAS along with The Literacy Continuum.
A problem we're having, especially with older students who read quite accurately is that teachers are having to administer many assessment in order to reach a 'hard' level.
Some students are getting Instructional for a few levels, because they read with 98%+ accuracy and can score 4 or 5 for their Comprehension Conversation.

A score of 4 indicates to me that there are still some gaps in the student's understanding of texts at that level, so should we still be testing further? Can teachers use their discretion and professional judgement to stop the assessments, even if a Hard level is not reached?

Would appreciate your advice
