BAS 1 Where-to-Start Word Test Directions
Each optional literacy assessment in BAS1 and BAS2 includes a set of directions for administration. This is the directions for the Where-to-Start Word Test: a quick way to find a starting level for the Benchmark Assessment conference. If you do not have sufficient, dependable information from the child’s previous teacher, school records, or your own observations to judge the starting point for the assessments, this test can help minimize the number of books the child will read during the conference.
